Project Description

This project focused on using a series of constraints on Adobe Illustrator based on a set of instructions. I began in illustrator, experimenting with a variety of circular shapes that I then brought into Photoshop to fill with different colors. I then cut out the windows in these shapes in transparent acrylic and created a wooden laser-cut frame. After assembling with contact cement and wood glue, I covered each of the acrylic pieces in clear contact cement, which created a bubbly, stained glass-like texture. Finally, I assembled the full wooden exterior of the lamp and wired up a lamp kit and bulb inside to highlight the glow and overlap of the transparent acrylic.
